Musical journey (152)

Hello from Melbourne! My expression in that pic sums up how I feel right now, which is fucking happy. I'm SO glad to be back home after a gruelling hitch.

This rotation was especially tough because the performance rating issue raised in my previous post got resolved in the most devastating way on the third day of my hitch and this wrecked the rest of my time on site. The outcome was so frustrating that I don't wish to elaborate here. Suffice to say, it's clear the company under new management does not recognise my value and effort. You know what that means right? We shall see what happens in the coming months. But enough of that because it's now time to play!

Well, "play" would of course consist of both G-rated and non-G rated fun. I'm going on a cruise departing Sydney in 2 weeks' time, the first one in my life. Take that, bucket list! I bet there's going to be a lot of non G-rated fun on board and I'll post some shareable pictures here for sure!

In the G-rated sense, I'd soon be knee-deep in the long-awaited DLC for "Horizon: Forbidden West" called "Burning Shores" (launch trailer here). But I'd have to familiarise myself with the controls again first because after finishing the main game, I went on to complete three more namely "Elden Ring", "God of War: Ragnarok" and "Hogwarts Legacy". Because I'm don't play MMO games, I don't regard myself as a serious gamer but I guess compared to those who don't play at all, I'm a true addict!

Before I complete this DLC and move on to "Final Fantasy XVI" (only released on 22/06/2023), I've recorded a cover of the game's theme song called "In the Flood" (original version here), which is this month's musical offering.

As an amateur song-writer, I truly admire those who can write game soundtracks especially those that bring out the feel so well. This song gave me chills the first time I heard it during the game's introduction as it tells the tale of the lead character Aloy's harsh and lonely journey perfectly. I hope I do it justice!
